The Persian Gulf region has become the most important region in the world due to its huge energy reserves and geopolitical position. According to an international strategy that places global power in the hands of those who dominate energy resources and lines, supra-regional powers are competing to expand their dominance over the region. The rivalry began in the British Empire and continues today with powers such as the United States, Europe, Russia, China, India, Pakistan and Turkey. Given the need to strike a balance between the influence of major powers in the region and the continuation of an independent policy by Iran, the need for a special policy in the field of energy is felt more than ever. The present study examines the situation of the oil market and the position of the oil in the Persian Gulf, energy security and the policies of the great powers.
